Sunderland Harriers 5K Is An Established Road Race in The North East of the UK for
Runners of All Ages & Fitness Levels.

Open to runners of all abilities, where you can run for your favourite charity

Planning on competing in the Great North Run (GNR) later this year, then this 5K event is a great addition in your build up to the GNR in September

Course Route

  • The course is fast traffic free UKA measured 5k.
  • Marshalls will be at junctions, so please obey their instructions.
  • Please be aware that pedestrians use the complex.
  • Each kilometre is marked accurately.
  • A course map will be available to view at the entry desk at the complex.

  • Entry fee £10.00. Unattached £12.00. Late entries on the night £12
  • Closing Date For Entries – Sunday 17th July 2022
  • RACE 1 – Women 5K (6.45pm)
  • RACE 2 – Senior Men & All Veteran Men 5K(7.20pm)

PLEASE NOTE

YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT
  • FIRST AID - Medical help will be provided on route should you need it. If you are unable to finish, try to walk to the first aid post at the finish of the race or signal you need help to the marshals out on the course.
  • PLEASE ENSURE the medical information requested on the reverse of your number is correctly completed.

Race Day Information

  • Car Parking: Free but is shared by other sports and is subject to Traffic Warden enforcement.
  • Toilets should be available within the Ski slope complex and the Puma Tennis Centre.
  • Prizes and medals for the Northern Championships will be presented at the end of the races at the Sports Complex
  • Running Numbers will be issued on race day or by post if SAE is included with your entry.
  • Running Numbers must be worn on the front of your vest and must not be mutilated or folded.
  • Headphones and musical devices should not be worn.
  • The Finish: Having finished please keep moving in the same order you crossed the line. Please ensure your number is clearly visible.
  • Results will be on view shortly after the conclusion of races. They will also be posted on this website.

Start & Assembly Area

The assembly area is on the approach path to the complex from the direction of Silksworth. All participants should be at this point no later than five minutes before start. Please line up as per your estimated finishing time, the races will start at 6.45pm for women and 7.20pm approx for senior men and all veteran men

Changing Accommodation

Changing facilities and showers should be available within the ski slope changing rooms. NO baggage should be left in the changing area. Please use the lockers, a 20p piece will be required. The organisers will accept no liability for loss of, or damage to, competitors' property.
